They’re breaking up, this multi-Grammy winner and platinum selling group called Black Eyed Peas or BEP for short, the one with a Filipino-American rap artist now known as apl. de. ap. along with William Adams (will.i.am.), Dante Santiago (Taboo) and Fergie. That is if we believe the rumors.
Well, they may or may not, but one thing is sure, the group that has made the world dancing with their hit tunes is coming back to Manila soon.
It’s going to be a good, good night on Oct.25, Thanks to Futuretainment, Inc., Music Management International, and the Philippines’s largest flag carrier Cebu Pacific. These companies have joined forces to bring back the music of the sensational Black Eyed Peas. This is part of The Beginning World Tour leg, and because Pineda’s roots is the Philippines, can the group ignore Manila?
The gig will be at the SM Mall of Asia Open Grounds.
The phenomenal group had Filipinos dancing when they came for the Black Eyed Peas: The Monkey Business Tour in 2006. Known for their chart-toppers “Boom Boom Pow,” “I Gotta Feeling,” and “This Time (Dirty Bit),” the hip-hop group continues to captivate listeners in all walks of life all over the world with their upbeat and futuristic sounds.
Since the release of their album Elephunk (which featured “Where is the Love?” and “Let’s Get it Started”) in 2003, the group has received critical acclaim, winning more than 80 awards including Grammy, American Music, BET, Billboard Music, World Music, MTV Video Music and Soul Train Awards.
“The Beginning is symbolic of adopting new technologies, such as augmented reality, 3D and 360 video,” explains Will.i.am. “It’s also about being experimental, taking songs we’ve liked from the past and playing around with sick, crazy beats. It’s an amazing time to be creative right now and I think people are open to that.”
Helping set the Manila stage for the Black Eyed Peas’ return is official airline partner Cebu Pacific with its exciting promos and seat sales. Travelers can catch Black Eyed Peas fever as Cebu Pacific offers an extra special seat sale for travel on the concert date and plays the supergroup’s top hits for its passengers’ listening pleasure.
